What strage colors in the sky?!

The K-Index showed the number 4 – which is not that bad –  but I tell you this doesn’t matters at all. It is more important that the sky is clear and that you are patient and able to wait in the cold. We went by bike to the Väiskin Laavu on the Ounasvaara Hill near Rovaniemi. There we set up a camp-fire to get some warmth because it was already more than -10°C. The heat is not only good for frozen fingers but also good for grilling “Makkara”.

After some hours of waiting in the cold finally the particles from the sun hit the earth and we could saw some quite strong Northern Lights. But after time the Northern Lights become weaker and it was really time to creep into your warm sleeping bags because only in this bags you can survive a night outdoors.

    Great pictures Wolfgang!
But, could you please edit the link with makkara? Siskonmakkara is just one type of sausage and a bit misleading, if you talk about grilling sausages above the campfire. I’m not so proud of the combination of my name and makkara. So please, Woflgang, do me a favor and find some other link with an actual grilli- or hiillosmakkara. Danke schön!

Sorry about that. I didn’t realized this similarity of names so it wasn’t in propose!
    Link change is done.
