Climbing without mountains / Bouldering Gym in Rovaniemi

Some of you might already know but for those how don’t know I want to introduce the Cave to you. The Cave is the place where the members of the “Rovaniemen Vuoristoklubi” (Climbing Club … at least i thing so) train and hang up. I’m a bit proud that i can say “…yes I’m a member of this club”. The Cave is more or less a big climbing gym where you can train all kind of difficulties. The walls are variable in their falling-gradient (you know /, |, \ or ‘-,). And of course we have a nice chill-out corner with comfortable couches and a music system.

Everybody which have the Sportpass from RAMK can come and visit us during the public hours for free. Otherwise the visit cost 5€ if you are not member of the club and want to go climbing outside the public hours. If you are interested in watching some movies about bouldering in Finland you can check this out. This film has been produced by members of the Climbers Club.

The Finnish climbing people are really nice and open minded and I found Finnish friends quit fast. We have been to many trips together so far. Only to mention a few, we have been in Sweden for sport-climbing, we have been somewhere in the forest near Rovaniemi for a bouldering session on stone and last weekend we have been in the valley of Kourouma for ice climbing respectively mixed-climbing but this is another story

PS: next week we will have a Pre-Xmas party. But before we get started we have to fix our big mattress and do some other work but most of the time we probably will do partying and of course climbing…
